The bodily seeds of agency

Disclaimer

This is part of a collection unpolished thoughts, ideas, and reflections. It is raw, unfiltered and unfinished. Proceed at your own risk.

Agency comes from the body, not the mind. It’s the capacity to notice and experience emotions in the body that allows for choice and discernment.

The mind gets busy hurling from a deep ditch of falsehoods. Too often, the mind is wrong, caught up in worlds of fantasy and words of unreality. Misconstruing the past. Fixing an unknowable future. Avoiding the intelligence that can only be available in the present moment.

The body is always in the here and now, anchored in reality. Truth will not arise in the mind if the intelligence of the body is disregarded, unintegrated.

Minds…they are absolutely necessary for making decisions, but insufficient on their own. We are much more than thinking. At the very least, consider these four ways of knowing: feeling, imagining, sensing and thinking. The body is present in all of them.
